We bill our clients on a flat fee basis for criminal cases. A flat rate is a one–rate payment to cover all of the costs of handling a specific legal matter such as DWI representation. The flat fee is based on certain specific assumptions about the complexity of your particular case. Some or all of the following factors may be taken into account when determining a fee structure and setting a fee:
1 | The time and labor required, the novelty and difficulty of the questions involved, and the skill requisite to perform the legal service properly. |
2 | The county in which the charge is pending. Some counties and prosecutors are easier to deal with and therefore take less time for the attorney to handle your case. |
3 | The fee customarily charged in the locality for similar legal services. |
4 | The seriousness of the case, whether it is a Misdemeanor or a Felony. |
5 | Time limitations imposed by the client or by circumstances. |
6 | Nature and length of the professional relationship with the client. |
7 | Whether the client is seeking plea or trial representation. |
For Example, a Flat Fee for a DWI Charge Might Include:
We provide payment plans for our clients at no additional charge and with no credit requirements. Our law office accepts cash, personal checks and ALL major credit cards.
Family Law Cases (Including Divorce)On family law cases (including divorce, custody cases, CPS, protective orders, temporary orders). We bill a reasonable hourly rate. It is often difficult to guage how long a family law case will last, and billing hourly ensures that you are not overbilled for our services.
RetainersOn family cases, we will accept a retainer for our services. This makes us your attorney, and we hold this money in trust for you. Along the way, during your case, we use this money to pay our hourly rate as it is earned.
When we meet in person, we will go over all potential fees with you which will be clearly written out in a contract.
